Wolverines Lose by 1 in Orange Bowl

Michigan made plenty of plays late in the game but came up short by the smallest possible margin 33-32 Friday night against the Florida State Seminoles.

The Wolverines scored a late touchdown and converted a 2-point conversion to take a 3-point lead, but on the ensuing kickoff Florida State returned the kick into Michigan territory and scored easily to take a 3-point lead of their own.  On the extra point kick attempt Michigan blocked the kick and returned the ball for a 2-point score.  Michigan would fail to move the football on their final possession and the FSU got the win.

Michigan ends the season at 10-3.  The Wolverines had quite a veteran team this season, especially on defense, and will lose many players to graduation.  There had been speculation that Coach Jim Harbaugh could be headed to the NFL, but reports say he told the team he wouldn’t be leaving.
