PGA Legend Mike Hill Joins Greg O’Connor

During Golf Week on our sister station NewsTalk 970/101.5, Greg O’Connor toured some of the area’s finest courses. On his final stop, Hills’ Heart of The Lakes in Brooklyn, GOC got a chance to chat with Mike Hill, former 3-time PGA winner and 18-time Senior PGA winner.

Mike, along with his wife Sandy and daughter Christine have owned Hills’ for nearly 35 years. With Hill nearing age 80, he still loves to be out on the tractors, tending to his course. Mike said he wouldn’t trade a thing:

 

 

For Hill, it was all about winning:

 

 

After a great year at Hills’ last year, the weather this spring has been tough:

 

 

Mike’s brother Dave, who was a 13-time winner on the PGA Tour, including a Varden Trophy win in 1969, was 74 years old when he passed away in 2011; and the Hill brothers were one of the greatest brother combinations in golf history.

 

 

The brothers were leaders of a golf program on Wesley Street that won twelve consecutive state championships.
