Khari Willis Chats With Jackson ESPN

He’s still trying to sort through “hundreds” of text messages.

Khari Willis has gone from Jackson’s south side, to the hoops courts of the King Center. Then, to playing football under the Friday night lights of Lumen Christi, to Spartan Stadium on Saturday afternoons. Now, he’ll head to Lucas Oil Stadium as a member of the Indianapolis Colts.

Khari is excited to get moving, “I’m looking forward to rookie mini camp.”

He’s already back to a routine as mini camp begins today. “I think everything has kind of settled down. I’ve been back to work, back to working out, trying to get better, prepare,” Willis said. We asked him what Indianapolis told him about what they liked about him. “Just what I bring to the table,” he said. “They appreciate me as a football player, my versatility…my leadership abilities and making everybody better.”

Willis will wear number 37. The 5’11”, 213 pound Safety joins a film room that includes other safeties like de facto leader of the safety corps Clayton Geathers and Malik Hooker (2017 1st round pick).
