Friday Fish Fry feeds hundreds at Interfaith Shelter

It’s a great day for a Friday Fish Fry at the Jackson Interfaith Shelter.

The fish, totaling about 1500 bluegill and crappie, were the result of the Midwest Open Ice Fishing Tournament held in January on Devils Lake by Knutson’s Sporting Goods. The fish were cleaned and frozen following the tournament and fed about 200 people at the Interfaith Shelter on this chilly but sunny day in Jackson.

The Interfaith Shelter is a 90-day emergency shelter for men, women and children in Jackson. To donate or volunteer, contact jacksoninterfaith@sbcglobal.net or call 789-8735.

Cooking up and serving the meal were area fisherman who competed in the tournament. You can find more information about the tournament at midwestopentournament.com.
