It appears that the Lions got a bargain on their 4-year-contract with linebacker DeAndre Levy. According to the NFL Network, the deal is worth $33.72 million, with $20-million guaranteed. Although the contract is quite a bit less than the 4-year-deal that linebacker Bobby Wagner signed with the Seattle Seahawks just days earlier which is reportedly worth $43-million, it still makes Levy the 2nd highest paid 4-3 outside linebacker in the NFL by average salary, and he ranks first overall by total compensation.
Levy earned the contract by putting together a pair of stellar season on defense for the Lions with 119 tackles and 6 INTs in 2013, and 151 tackles in 2014, good for 2nd most in the league.
