Career Night for Ryan LaMarre

On a night where Christian Yelich had a historic night going 6-for-6 and hitting for the cycle for the Brewers, Ryan LaMarre had himself a career night for the White Sox as they took down the red-hot New York Yankees.

LaMarre went 3-for-4 to increase his season average to .288; but he wasn’t just hitting singles. LaMarre hit a pair of RBI doubles, and a home run to account for all of the Chicago offense in a 4-1 win.

LaMarre’s first double came in the 2nd inning off of Yankees starter CC Sabathia. He hit it to right center field with two runners on. Both Kevan Smith and Nicky Delmonico would score to give the Sox an early 2-0 lead. In the top of the fourth, LaMarre would scorch a double down the left field line with Yoan Moncada running on the play for his second double of the night, and his third RBI to put the Sox up 3-0. His would save his best at-bat for the top of the 7th inning, when he went opposite field again, nearly identical in location to his double; only this time the ball would get over the wall for a solo home run off of Chad Green, giving LaMarre his second career home run, his fourth RBI on the night, and seal the win for Chicago.

In 132 at-bats with Minnesota and Chicago this year, LaMarre is hitting .288 with 2 home runs and 15 RBI. Both of his home runs and 8 of his RBI have come since joining Chicago after being designated for assignment by the Twins. Since joining Chicago, he is hitting .364.
