Coach Buzz Williams is headed back to his home state and will return as Texas A&M’s head coach.
Williams, fresh off leading Virginia Tech to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, said in a statement: “this is our home, and we are ready to join with the 12th Man to win championships, graduate our players and represent this world-class university with integrity.”
Williams, 46, replaces Billy Kennedy, fired at the end of the season after missing the NCAA Tournament in six of his eight years with the Aggies.
