The Western Panthers hosted Hastings in their first round district game Thursday night in the Panther Bowl. The change of seasons was certainly evident as the wind blew and the temperature dropped.
Although the elements were changing, the Panthers kept the heat on the visitors. The scoring picked up midway through the first half as Jeff Palmer scored twice and Tommy Powell found the back of the net too. These goals were assisted by Wyatt Robinson (2), and Christian Roza. Western carried a 3-0 lead into halftime.
