Lumen Christi’s hockey team controlled the ice at Optimist Ice Rink on Friday, securing a 5-0 win over Jackson United. The Titans outshot their rivals 34-12, keeping the puck in Jackson United’s zone for much of the game.
The Titans took an early lead with a first-period goal from Brodie Gregory, assisted by Sam McCormick. They pulled away in the second, scoring twice, including a goal by Jack O’Shea on a feed from Gregory during a two-on-one break. Luke DuMont added another in the second with a backhander set up by Isiah Dinverno and O’Shea.
In the third, Josh DuMont scored on a slap shot from the left circle, assisted by O’Shea and Isaac Rehberg. Luke DuMont capped the night with an unassisted wrister late in the game.
Jackson United struggled to generate offense but saw strong play from goalkeeper Jonah Hughes, who made 29 saves. Despite their defensive efforts, turnovers and missed opportunities kept them from mounting a comeback.
Titans goalie Zach Jaakkola stopped all 12 shots he faced, including key saves on breakaways and a short-handed opportunity.
The win marks Lumen Christi’s 14th consecutive victory over Jackson United, a streak dating back to 2018. The Titans now boast a 3-0-1 record, while Jackson United falls to 3-2-0.
