A winless opening weekend for the Tigers swept by the Rays with a 5-1 finale in
Tampa. Rays starter Jeffrey Springs mowed down 12 Detroit batters in 6 hitless
innings. Jake Rodgers hit a solo home run in the 9th to prevent a 2nd shutout in three
games. They now head to Houston.
