LaMarre Hitless in Weekend Split with Louisville

Ryan LaMarre appeared in 3 of 4 games over the weekend for Atlanta’s AAA affiliate Gwinnett Stripers, going hitless in the weekend series; which Gwinnett split with the Louisville Bats (AAA-Reds) at Louisville Slugger Field.

On Thursday, LaMarre batted 7th and started in right field. He went 0-for-4. LaMarre accounted for 5 of the 8 Stripers left on base. Former Detroit Tiger Ian Krol picked up the win for the Bats.

Friday wasn’t much better for LaMarre, save for the outcome. Gwinnett won the game 9-7, LaMarre came off the bench and pinch hit for reliever Connor Johnstone. He would ground out to first with a runner on third and two out. Gwinnett left 8 more on base, with LaMarre now responsible for 6 of the 16 men left on base.

Saturday brought a 1 run loss for Gwinnett, but another hitless night for LaMarre. He hit sixth and started in left field. LaMarre was 0-for-3 with a strikeout and one man left on base.

On Sunday, LaMarre did not play in the Stripers 7-4 win to split the road series.

For the season, LaMarre is now hitting .222 (6-for-26) with no home runs. 3 RBI, and 2 stolen bases; playing in 9 of the Stripers’ first 10 games.

Gwinnett is now 6-4 on the season, one half game behind the 7-4 Charlotte Knights (AAA-White Sox) in the International League South division. Gwinnett is also one half game behind Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (AAA-Yankees) for the wild card.

The Stripers now head back home to face the Charlotte Knights (AAA-White Sox) for a four-game series, including today’s Jackie Robinson Day game at 7:05pm.
