NJCAA District Final at Mott CC

Jackson College 65, Lansing College 56: The Jets return to the NJCAA National Tournament for the first time since 1978 with the District C win Saturday at Mott Community College. Michelle McGee scored 24 points to lead JC. Trinity Brown finished with 12 points and Dharyauna Pierce added 10 points for Jackson College (25-4). The win avenges a loss earlier in the season to Lansing College. Jackson will wait for the announcement Tuesday on seedings and pairings for the national tournament.

Softball

Jackson College 7, Iowa Lake 6: Ashley Sturgill had three hits and knocked in two runs for the Jets. Rayannah Burke earned the pitching win for JC striking out six batters. The Jets are 3-3 on the season.

 

PSU New Kensington 6, Jackson College 1: The Jets were limited to six hits as Addison Bobbio went 2-for-3 for Jackson College in Florida.

Baseball

Jackson College 7-5, Bryant and Stratton 1-0: The Jets improved to 6-8 on the young season with a pair of wins over B&S 7-1 and 5-0. Jackson College scored five runs in the fourth inning of game one to pull ahead. Gabe Jones went 2-for-3 at the plate and Harry Major knocked in two runs for JC. Ethan Ianni earned with win pitching five innings and striking out nine in game one. Nathan Tappenden won game two for Jackson striking out five batters in five innings pitched. Major went 2-for-4 in the win.
