Women’s Basketball

Jackson College 79, Wayne County CC 60: Jackson College improved to 19-3 overall and 7-1 in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association with the road win. Kaylona Butler finished with a team-high 27 points to lead Jackson College. Michelle McGee finished with 14 points and Zoie Bamm tallied 11 points for JC. The Jets travel to St. Clair County Community College Wednesday for a 5:30 tipoff.

 

Men’s Basketball

Wayne County CC 71, Jackson College 64: Jackson College fell to 10-13 overall for the season with the road loss. The Jets are 2-7 in the MCCAA. Jackson College will travel to St. Clair County Community College Wednesday for a 7:30 start.

 

Bowling

Jackson College at MCCAA Tournament: The Jets finished second in the women’s event and third in the men’s at Merri-Bowl Lanes in Livonia Friday. “Although the outcome was not what we wanted, these athletes never quit,” JC Coach Steve Sears said. “Our goal is always to win, but very proud of how each and every player responded.” Trey Richmond and Parker Horvath finished third in the doubles, Logan Schneider finished third and Jackson Kremer sixth in singles, and Richmond and Charlie Teller finished in the top eight earning all-conference honors. On the women’s side, Olivia Palmer and Abby Gutowski finished second in doubles, Haley Wallace, Kaelin Pond, and Gutowski placed in the top nine in singles, and Gutowski earned all-conference honors by finishing in the top eight for the day. Jackson College will bowl in the regionals next Friday in Lansing.
