Golf
The Columbia Central Boys golf team played in it’s fourth jamboree on Monday 5/5. They finished in 3rd place with a score of 175. The boy’s were led by sophomore Parker Gough, who shot a score of 4 over, 40. The next event for the boys will be an 18 hole event Wednesday, 5/7 at Calderone GC for the East Jackson Invitational.
Tennis
On Monday, the #9 Panthers Girls Tennis Team hosted the Harper Creek Beavers in a battle of conference unbeatens for a chance to be the I-8 Conference regular season champs. And the Panthers were victorious with a 7-1 win improving their conference record to 6-0 and overall record to 9-4-1. It was also Senior Night as the team celebrated our two senior captains, Dru Porter (1 singles who won 6-3, 6-0) and Ali Carmody (2 singles who won 6-0, 6-1). Another highlight of the night was 3 singles Natalie Hyde who was the first to win her flight and captured the coveted Victory Poncho! Next up for the Panthers is a tri match at Vicksburg on Wednesday, May 7. They will start the day playing Edwardsburg at 2 pm followed by a match vs Vicksburg.
