Results from yesterday in a variety of sports from Jackson area league teams.

Tennis

The Western boys tennis team traveled to Lansing on Tuesday to compete in a dual match against Lansing Catholic. Lansing Catholic is currently ranked #9 in division 4. After a small delay at the beginning due to a light drizzle, the match was still able to be completed with the Panthers winning by a final of 7-1. Senior #2 singles Jaxon Porter was first off the court giving up 0 games. Following Jaxon included senior #1 doubles pair Hudson Valentine and Joshua Veneziano beating Lansing Catholic for the second time this season by a score of 6-0, 6-1. The remaining singles lineup were off the court next with wins. #1 singles freshman Lucas Parrott (6-3, 6-1), senior #3 singles Noah McCollum (6-1, 6-2) and junior #4 singles Derek Olivas (6-2, 6-2). After a struggling start for #2 doubles pair senior Lucas Inosencio and junior Dylan Rogers, they were able to secure the second set and win 10-8 in a third set super tiebreaker. #3 doubles junior Morgan Devine and sophomore Jackson Slisher came out strong winning the first set 6-1 but struggled to maintain that success losing in a third set super tiebreaker. #4 doubles sophomore pair Aidan Carter and Jack Spooner also finished with a win 6-2, 6-3.
Next, the boys will travel to Chelsea on Wednesday (08.30) to compete in a dual match.
Golf
The Lady Golden Eagles dominated at the East Jackson Two-Man Scramble Invitational, hosted at Ella Sharp Golf Course. Logan Bentley and Kelsey Fausz earned medalist honors putting together a resounding 64 for 18 holes. Iliana Fowle and Marrisa Berro finished in second with a 75. Ashley Yang and Olivia Slusher finished with an 88. It was such a fun day for the Columbia Central golfers. They worked so well together and did an amazing job representing themselves and their school district.
East Jackson Invitational at Ella Sharp Park

This was a two person scramble, 18 hole event.
The EJ team of Hannah Stimer and Pyper Norris finished at 82 and finished 6th.
The EJ team of Grace Thorrez and Haley Stimer finished with 87 and tied for 10th.
