Golf
The Lady Golden Eagles had another fantastic day out on Clarklake Golf Course for their home match, the Columbia Central Jamboree. In this 9-hole event, the team placed first with a combined score of 182. Logan “Showtime” Bentley had a tremendous round and shot an individual first-place score of 34! Kelsey Fausz finished in 3rd with a 49. Marrisa Berro finished in 4th with a 49. Iliana Fowle finished in 5th with a 50. Ashley Yang finished in 7th with a 55. Alana Zimmerman finished in 10th with a 57. We will continue to get better as the season prolongs in preparation for the big dance in October. However, enjoy the win, ladies!
Also, Olivia Slusher, the newest member of the team, completed her first-ever round of golf competition today. Congratulations, Olivia!
Soccer
| Grass Lake boys soccer beat Jackson Lumen Christi 4-0 on opening night to start off the season with a win for the third year in a row. Kolton Heidrich was the ‘man of the match’ with two goals, while fellow seniors Tyler Chizek and Max Goebel each added one each. Zander Stormont played an excellent game as he assisted on 2 of those goals. Josh Postuma recorded his first shutout of the season with stellar defensive play in front of him, led by Junior Sal Vitale and Sophomore Ben Tippie.
Grass Lake travels to Division 2 Jackson Northwest on Monday for a JV/Varsity double header. |
