The Michigan Center Girls beat Hanover Horton, 49 to 28. Hailey Mees scored 11 points and had 5 steals and McKynley Gaddy added 11 points and 5 rebounds. Julia Reynolds had 9 points and 5 rebounds for the 11-0 Cardinals.

Bowling

Columbia Central vs East Jackson and Jonesville

It was double header day at Jax 60 for the CCHS bowlers.  After weather delayed the matches from Saturday to Sunday 8 schools flooded the lanes.

Match 1 – East Jackson

The boys took care of business beating East Jackson 22-8.  Brenden Bernstein lead all bowlers with a 213 and a 181. Logan Cripps added a 186.  

The girls won easily 27-3.  Alexis Henry led the team with games of 211 and 165 followed by Amber Johnson with a 153. 

Match 2 – Jonesville. 

After a quick break for lunch the teams faced a very talented Jonesville team.  Losing both matches.

The boys lost 23-7. Logan Cripps had the hot hand bowling a 227 followed by Brenden Bernstein with a 183 and Ethan Senkewitz with a 177.  

The girls bowled well, but the Jonesville girls showed why they’re undefeated winning 28-2. Alexis Henry led with games of 189 and 165 followed by Kaylee Molnar with a 151 and 150. 

Stop by Jax 60 Tuesday night as the Golden Eagles host the Flying Dutchmen of Manchester at 3:30pm.  

 

Hanover-Horton

The Lady Comet Bowlers consisting of Charlie Worden, Arianna Uhl, Brooke Hadley, Abby Barba and Sophie Donders bowled in a doubleheader Sunday against Napoleon and Grass Lake.
In the first match against Napoleon, the team was led by Sophie Donders 151 and 157 (308 series), Abby Barba 131 and 134 (265 series) and Charlie Worden 116 (217 series). The Comets won, 28-2.
In the second match, the Lady Comets took on the Warriors of Grass Lake for the second time this season. During their first baker, while the ladies started strong scoring more than 20 pins above their average with a 142 game, they fell short of Grass Lake by 45 pins. In a similar way, the Warriors lead the second baker giving them a 10 point advantage going into the regular games. In the regular games, the Comets were led by Sophie Donders 140 and 187 (327 series), Abby Barba 136 and 134 (270 series) and Charlie Worden with a new season best 129 game (241 series). The final score had the Warriors on top 29-1.
The team’s record after the doubleheader is 4-4. The Lady Comets will take on Michigan Center at Jax 60 on Tuesday, January 16th.
