Western Girls Beats Hastings and Pennfield

The Western ladies traveled to Hastings on Wednesday for their double dual against Hastings and Pennfield. They knew it was going to be a good match-up with Hastings, but they came ready to compete and were able to beat the Saxons 90.5 to 71.50. They were also able to beat Pennfield 121 to 33.

There were plenty of great finishes and scoring happening for Western. Winning their events were the following: 4x800m relay, Cami Boldt (1600), Izzy Schlundt (400), Bella Stoetzel (3200), and Kayda Herrick (HJ).

Top finishes in the field events were Addison Singleton (Shot/Discus), Ashlyn Hoffman (Discus), Natalie Coleman (PV), Lilly Heydenburg (PV), Bayli Stewart (LJ), and Kayda Herrick (LJ).

With the beautiful weather came some great PRs in each event:

100: Bayli Stewart, Lydia Coleman, Desiree Puente, Kailee Adams, Sydney Visel, Ming Scott, Autumn Friend

200: Izzy Schlundt, Natalie Coleman, Sydney Visel, Ming Scott

300m Hurdles: Bella Stoetzel

High Jump: AnnaKay Marshall

Long Jump: Kayda Herrick, Emily Broadworth, Ming Scott

The ladies will rest tomorrow and prep for their invite on Friday at Stockbridge with the hopes to continue their PRs!

Golf

Varsity Golf-

Wednesday the Parma Western golf team traveled to Harper Creek to participate in the second I8 match of the season. After another cold, windy day, the Panthers finished 4th with a score of 332. Eric Bonser continued his steady play with a solid score of 80. Hikaru Matzen had a personal best of 84, followed by Eli Herrington’s 85 and Riley Fridd’s 86.
JV Golf
While the varsity was battling in the BC, the JV squad had a match of their own at the beautiful Coldwater GC. Like the varsity, the team finished 4th overall with a score of 189. Dylan Yetzke fired a team-best 42🔥 good for 5th place overall.  Jeff Palmer shot 47 good for 14th place followed by Ethen StAndre’s 48 (17th place), and Cooper Johnston’s 52 good for a 30th-place finish. Great Job, Boys!
