Results from yesterday for high school bowling and wrestling.

Bowling

Columbia vs Jonesville

First place in the cascades conference was up for grabs Wednesday night when the Golden Eagle bowlers hosted the Comets of Jonesville. 

The boys started slow but overcame a loss in the first baker game and won the second.  In regular games the strength of Jonesville showed through as two bowlers started with the first 6 strikes finishing with a 256 and 257.  The Comets carried that momentum into game two winning the game and the match by a 24-6 final score.  Ethan Senkewitz led the team with a 205 followed by Brenden Bernstein with a 174.  

The girls faced the only other undefeated team in the conference.  The Comets were strong from start to finish winning 27-3.  Alexis Henry led the team with 169 followed by Kayleigh Molnar with a 161.  

Shout out to Reese Bostwick for bowling and exhibition game with the Jonesville JV shooting a 173.  

The Golden Eagle bowlers get a break for the holidays and return to action January 8th against Addison at Hudson Lanes.    

 

Western vs. Jonesville

Varsity Boys – Western def. Jackson 30-0.  Top performers were Buster Marr (189, 254), Austin Ball (169, 195), and Reed Vallie (191)

Varsity Girls – Western def. Jackson 27-3.  Top performers were Gabby Semenchuk (170), Kiley Bieskie (157), and Madason McDonald (153)
Wrestling
The CC Eagles varsity wrestling team went 1-1 tonight at our home Cascades quad. They were victorious over Hanover-Horton with a score of 42-29 and fell short to Napoleon with a score of 21-51.
Auden Kennedy, Shane Taylor, Hunter Czubachowski, and Dylan Boone ended the evening with 1 win each.

The Jonesville Comet Wrestling team travelled to Grass Lake high school on Wednesday night. They picked up two more wins to move to 4-0 in the Cascades Conference topping Michigan Center 41-30 and Grass Lake 59-9.

            Going 2-0 on the night for the Comets were Blake Ryan (113), Cody Nichols (120), Carson Playford (138), Tyler Milks (144), Austin Bowers (165), and Cooper Stevens (285). Harrison Packer (106), Randall Kast (132), Ben Colbart (157), Jordan VanSickle (175), and Evan McColley (215) all went 1-1. The Comets are back in action on Friday at 1pm as they host rival Hillsdale in the Battle for M-99.
