Game 1

The Lumen Christi offense pounded out 16 hits on their way to the game 1 win. Allison O’Dowd paced the offense with 4 hits including a double and triple along with 4 RBI. Lily Ganton and Bella Wrozek each had 3 hits. Wrozek also got the pitching win going 5 innings and striking out 10.

Bree Okoniewski got the pitching win in game 2. Code Ruge led the offense with a triple and 3 RBI.

The varsity softball team swept Pennfield tonight in an I8 match up!

Game one, the Panthers scored fourteen runs on eleven hits. Nicole Shellberg had three singles! Abby Nieswender, Palmer Fortress, Kenadee Golas, and Nicole Wilson each hit doubles. Cadi Stuscavage, Peyton Budd, and Alivia Hall each had added a hit. Whisman pitched four innings striking out eleven and walking two. Ashlyn Yeo closed out the game striking out two batters! Great job team!

Game two, the Panther scored eighteen runs on seventeen hits! Nieswender crushed two doubles and a singles.  Whisman, and Shellberg had three hits apiece.  Hendricks and Wilson had two hits. Fortress added a hit, Budd had a triple. Yeo and Hall added hits!  Whisman pitched two innings striking out 4 batters and Yeo closed again striking out ALL three batters! Western 18, Pennfield 0!

The Panthers are now 5-1 in the I8 Conference and 11-4 overall. They host a round robin tournament with Bronson and Blissfield Saturday starting at 10am.

Baseball

The Panthers swept Pennfield by the scores of 13-1 and 3-0. Troy Gilpin started in game one, and pitched 5 solid innings. At the plate, it was a team effort with Parrott, Oliver, Braun, Trudell, Allen, McAninch, and Wagner all having hits on the day.  In game two, Nick Allen pitched 7 scoreless innings, giving the Panthers a big boost The Panthers recorded 5 hits on the game, with 2 from Drew Braun, and one from each of LaPorte, Parrott, and McAninch. The Panthers are 10-4 on the season, and will play Saturday morning against Haslett in the Western invite.

Tennis

On a beautiful Thursday afternoon, the Panthers hosted the Marshall girls tennis team and won 8-0.  The top 2 singles players (Becca Brushaber #1, Dru Porter #2) fought hard to win tight first sets and then pulled off solid 2nd set wins at 6-0 each.  #3 doubles of Becca Brushaber and Anna Wilcox got the first win for the team to claim their first Victory Poncho, barely finishing before #1 doubles of Alena Engle and Teagan Robertson won their match.  The Panthers host a quad on Saturday beginning at 9 am vs Williamston, Haslett and Grand Blanc.  Way to go Panthers!
