Jackson United had a great start to regional competition in Brighton last night. The had an impressive 6-0 win over Ann Arbor Huron. Jackson United (13-12) advances to the next round and will face Brighton (18-5-1) Saturday (2/26) at 4:30pm. In the other side of the bracket Lenawee defeated Temperance Bedford in overtime 3-2 and advances to face Northville on Saturday. Winners of the Saturday contests will face off Wednesday (3/2) at 6pm for the Regional Championship.
Other contest of note is Division 3 Region 20 bracket being played locally at Optimist Ice Arena. Last night Grand Rapids Forest Hills beat Grand Rapids Catholic 2-1. Forest Hills (11-14-1) advances to the next round and will face Mattawan (18-7) on Saturday at 7pm. The other contest scheduled for Saturday is Lumen (17-6) vs East Grand Rapids (11-2) at 5pm. Winners making out of Saturday will face off in the Regional Championship on Tuesday (3/1) at 6pm.
