Baseball

Chelsea 4 @ Northwest gm1 Alex Thrun and Easton Nietzke each had 2 hits.  Gage Race pitched great having ZERO earned runs over 5 innings.  Kaleb Kittinger-Munro had a Double.

Chelsea 0 @ Northwest 3 gm2 Easton Nietzke had 2 hits. Will Herman got the win and pitched 5 innings, giving up only 3 hits, ZERO earned runs, and striking out 2.

Western 13 @ Napoleon 0 gm1 Troy Gilpin threw on Thursday for the Western Panthers , allowing zero runs and besting Napoleon Varsity Pirates by a score of 13-0. Gilpin was credited with the victory for Western. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out six. Western Panthers collected eight hits.   LaPorte, Parrott, and Trudell each managed two hits. Western didn’t  commit a single error in the field.

Western 12 @ Napoleon 2 gm2 Nick Allen was the winning pitcher for the Western Panthers. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out six and walking zero. Videto threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Western Panthers collected eight hits. Braun went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Western in hits.

East  Jackson 1 @ Springport 11 gm1 Savanna Curey, Aubree Bell and Kilah Boatright shared in pitching duties.  Curey went 2 for 3 at the late plate leading in EJ in Hits.

East Jackson 1 @ Springport 12 gm2  Savanna Curey took the mound for the 2nd game allowing 12 runs on 12 hits and striking out 8. Emily Uyttenhove, Bree Baxter, Aburee Bell, Khloee Getting and K Sadjak each collected one hit.  Gettings lead EJ with two stolen base.

Lumen 21 @ Jackson 1 gm1 The LC offense exploded for 21 runs on 14 hits in their first game of the season. Offensively the Titans where led by Kadence Hinkley, Lily Ganton, and Mallory Arcaro. All three had 2 hits and 3 RBI’s in the game. Bella Wrozek got the win in her first varsity game while striking out 9.

Lumen 11 @ Jackson 0 gm2 The Titans lead 1-0 going into the top of the 5th. The Titans put up 10 runs in the 5th to put the game away. Kadence Hinkley, Lily Ganton, and Bree Okoniewski all had 2 hits to lead the Titans. Bree Okoniewski also got the win on the mound for the Titans while racking up 8 strikeouts.

Western 5 @ Napoleon gm1 Game one the Panthers struggled to get their bats going until the 6th inning when they scored all five runs. The team collected nine hits. Abby Nieswender had two, Nicole Shellberg, Nicole Wilson, Peyton Budd, Alivia Hall, and Palmer Fortress each added a hit! Whisman struck out 13 and walked just 1 batter!

Western 7 @ Napoleon 8 gm2 Game two the Panthers scored early in the first inning, and Napoleon answered. The Panthers battled some tough calls on the field and Whisman faced a challenging strike zone in the third and fourth inning. The Pirates took a 7-2 lead into the 5th. The Panthers showed some guts in the top of the 6th scoring six runs to take the 8-7 lead. Whisman was strong on the mound and struck two of the three final outs collecting 8 K’s in the game! Senior Shaunicy Hendricks hit her first career HOME RUN! Doubles were hit by Fortress, Hendricks, and Nieswender! Ashlyn Yeo, Shellberg, and Whisman each added hits! The Panthers are now 8-7 and play at home Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday next week!
