Softball
Western 1 vs. Grass Lake 3 Game one, the Panthers left too many runners on base and couldn’t quite get the bats rolling. The team collected just five hits, led by Abby Nieswender with two doubles, Shaunicy Hendricks with two hits, and Ashlyn Yeo with a single. Whisman pitched to some tough Grass Lake hitters. She struck out seven and walked just two.
Western 2 vs. Grass Lake 12 Game two the Panthers put the ball in play, but the strong Grass Lake defense made some nice plays. Again, too many runners were left on base. The team collected 10 hits led by junior Nicole Wilson who went 4-4 at the plate with a double! Nieswender and Hendricks had two more hits. Nicole Shellberg and Alivia Hall each added singles. Hailey Whisman and junior Ahslyn Yeo each pitched against the strong Warrior offense.
