The Pirates got two big wins vs Addison tonight. We got two great pitching performances. In the first game, Kaitlyn Fall threw a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts.  Hannah Hamlin won the 2nd game!  Hayden Rendall had 5 hits and 6 RBI in the two games!

Game 1:
Hayden Rendall’s Big Day Propels Napoleon Varsity Pirates Past Addison

Hayden Rendall drove in four runs on four hits to lead Napoleon Varsity Pirates past Addison 17-0 on Tuesday. Rendall doubled in the fourth scoring two, singled in the first scoring one, and doubled in the second scoring one.

Kaitlyn Fall struck out 14 batters on the day. The pitcher also gave up zero hits and zero runs over five innings while walking one.

A single by Rendall put Napoleon Varsity Pirates on the board in the top of the first.

A single by Katelyn Ault, a double by Jocelyn Gamez, and a double by Rendall helped Napoleon Varsity Pirates extend their early lead in the second.

Napoleon Varsity Pirates scored seven runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning. Camryn Smilowski singled, scoring one run, Rendall doubled, scoring two runs, Molly Simpson singled, scoring one run, Jenna Yob doubled, scoring two runs, and Wheaton induced Gamez to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Napoleon Varsity Pirates scored five runs on five hits in the top of the fifth inning. Scarlett Ray doubled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Gamez doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.

Wheaton took the loss for Addison. The hurler went five innings, giving up 17 runs (11 earned) on 15 hits, striking out three and walking four.

Napoleon Varsity Pirates collected 15 hits in the game. Gamez and Rendall each drove in four runs for Napoleon Varsity Pirates. Yob and Haven Marker each collected multiple hits for Napoleon Varsity Pirates. Fall threw an immaculate inning in the second, striking out the side on nine pitches.

Game 2:

Second-Inning Spurt Lead Napoleon Varsity Pirates Past Addison

Napoleon Varsity Pirates defeated Addison 17-2 on Tuesday at TBD thanks in part to 12 runs in the second inning. Hayden Rendall tripled, scoring two runs, Molly Simpson grounded out, scoring one run, Katelyn Ault drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Haven Marker drew a walk, scoring one run, Hannah Hamlin drew a walk, scoring one run, Kaitlyn Fall drew a walk, scoring one run, Jenna Yob was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and a passed ball scored one run.

Napoleon Varsity Pirates jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Camryn Smilowski singled, scoring one run, Simpson drew a walk, scoring one run, Hamlin doubled, scoring one run, and Ault tripled, scoring two runs.

Hamlin earned the win for Napoleon Varsity Pirates. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and two runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking none. Lappan took the loss for Addison. The starting pitcher went one and one-third innings, allowing 14 runs (six earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking six.

Hamlin, Marker, Ault, Rendall, and Smilowski each collected one hit for Napoleon Varsity Pirates. Ault, Allison Dillay, and Rendall each drove in two runs for Napoleon Varsity Pirates. Napoleon Varsity Pirates had patience at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Simpson and Marker led the team with two bases on balls each. Smilowski stole two bases.

Wheaton led Addison with one run batted in. Harris, Clark, and McNett each collected one hit for Addison.
