Emily Brown (2025) collected three hits in four at bats, as Grass Lake Varsity Warriors defeated Vandercook Lake 10-0 on Monday. Brown (2025) hit a solo home run to center field in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the second inning.

Ollie Powers was strong in the circle for the Titans in the Catholic League Semi Final. She went 7 innings, striking out 13 batters while only walking 1. Mallory Arcaro lead the offense with 2 hits and Bella Wrozek drove in 2 runs. LC will play the winner of Marian and Toledo Central Catholic for the league championship.

 

 

Grass Lake Varsity Warriors got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Brown (2025) homered to center field, Bree Salts (2025) singled to center field, and Morgan “Mo” Conrad (2026) singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

 

 

 

Grass Lake Varsity Warriors added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Leilah Smith (2026) singled up the middle, and Grass Lake Varsity Warriors scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run.

 

 

 

Grass Lake Varsity Warriors added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Reese Lape (2027) singled, scoring one run, Brown (2025) doubled, scoring two runs, and Smith (2026) singled, scoring one run.

 

 

 

Nadene Hubbard (2025) earned the win for Grass Lake Varsity Warriors. The righty gave up two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out two and walking none. L Benjamin took the loss for Vandercook Lake. The starting pitcher went four and one-third innings, allowing 10 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits, striking out one and walking four.

 

 

 

Grass Lake Varsity Warriors amassed 12 hits in the game. Smith (2026) and Brown (2025) were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Grass Lake Varsity Warriors while hitting back-to-back. Grass Lake Varsity Warriors turned one double play in the game. Grass Lake Varsity Warriors were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Salts (2025) had the most chances in the field with six.

 

 

 

E Riddle led Vandercook Lake with two hits in two at bats from the leadoff position. Vandercook Lake were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. C Riddle had the most chances in the field with four.
