Grass Lake came out swinging Tuesday night at Jackson College, edging Laingsburg 10-9 in a high-octane battle—and the Warriors showed heart from start to finish.

Bree Salts was unstoppable at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI single. Grass Lake racked up 12 hits overall, with Leilah Smith, Kennedy Collins, and Reese Lape each collecting multiple hits.

The Warriors battled back after falling behind early. They tied it in the first, then jumped ahead 4-2 in the second after a clutch double by Salts. Laingsburg briefly regained the lead in the third, but Grass Lake responded with a five-run fourth—highlighted by a two-run double from Morgan “Mo” Conrad.

Conrad also got the win in the circle, pitching a complete game with four strikeouts. It was a gutsy performance that helped Grass Lake hold off the Wolfpack and earn the one-run victory.

The Warriors (17-2) will face Alconac (16-13) Friday at 3pm on the campus of MSU. Winners will advance to the state championship game on Saturday at 5:30pm and will face either Clare (38-2) or Ravenna (34-4), also on the campus of MSU.
