Columbia 1 vs. Manchester 0
The Golden Eagles girl’s Varsity soccer team hosted the Flying Dutchmen of Manchester in a battle of top teams in the Cascades Conference and game away with a 1-0 victory.
Junior Kennedy Salter put Columbia ahead with about 16 minutes remaining in the game when she re-directed a cross from senior Lydia Stewart and the defense made sure it stayed that way with a suffocating effort.
“I was particularly pleased with our midfield play. The girls stayed organized and made good decisions in their passing game. That has been a piece that has been inconsistent and it keeps improving which is a good sign heading towards district play”. Said Columbia coach Andy Hosmer.
Columbia improves to 11-2-1 on the season and 9-2-1 in the Cascades.
