The Golden Eagles Girl’s Varsity Soccer team traveled to Leslie to take on the Blackhawks and fell for only the second time this season. Columbia got behind early and despite managing to pull together a terrific second half performance just couldn’t overcome the 3-0 halftime deficit.
“Leslie had a good game plan which we anticipated, but they executed it perfectly in the first 20 minutes and once they had the cushion they dropped deep and defended well. Lots of credit to them.” Said Columbia coach Andy Hosmer. “I was very proud of how our girls responded to the adversity. Nobody was negative, they didn’t give up and pulled together and worked very hard throughout the second half right to the final whistle. We grew because of the game and that is what is most important.”
Columbia drops to 9-2-1 over-all and 7-2-1 in the Cascades.
