The Lions are still missing 4 players at practices, including Pro Bowlers Frank Ragnow and Sam Laporta. The 49ers got WR Deebo Samuel back at their practices in a limited capacity. Also, Detroit GM Brad Holmes won the Pro Football Writers GM of the Year Award, a first for the Lions.
Someone who gets very little credit for the Detroit Lions success is owner Shelia Ford Hamp. The daughter of longtime owner William Clay Ford. Mrs. Hamp finalized the hiring of GM Brad Holmes and coach Dan Campbell. She also approved the trade of Matt Stafford. She told Dan Miller that she is very competitive.
Lion rookie tight end Sam Laporta has high praise for coach Campbell. He appeared recently on the Rich Eisen Show.
