Brian Stuard Having Career Year

Jackson native, Napoleon High School graduate, and PGA Tour pro Brian Stuard is on pace to set a new career high in earnings.  Stuard ended the 2014 PGA season with an earnings total of $1,852,310.10, good enough for the 52nd highest total on the tour and to this point his single-season high total.  In 2014 Stuard played 29 tournaments and finished in the top 10 4 times and in the top 25 8 times.

On May 1st of this year, Stuard made big local news with his 1st career PGA Tour win at the Zurich Classic.  The pay day from that event alone was $1,260,000, putting him on pace to surpass his money total from 2014.  Through 14 events this season, Stuard has accumulated $1,464,238.  It’s likely that Brian’s goals are less focused on earnings and more likely based in earning FedEX Cup points and additional tour victories, but any of those achievements would result in additional gains in the earnings column.

You can surf through Stuard’s season numbers by clicking here, and see that while he seems to struggle with distance off the tee, his accuracy is top notch as he is 8th overall in driving accuracy and 1st in distance from the edge of the fairway.  The approach shot at the Zurich Classic that set up the short putt that would ultimately lead to Stuard’s first PGA victory is not surprising when you see that he ranks in the top 10 on the tour in approach shots from several distances.

The Jackson community has enjoyed following the golf career of one of it’s own, and those who follow closely recognize that Brian Stuard has a chance to make 2016 his best year so far.
