The Pirates lost two to a quality Northwest team to end our regular season.
Northwest scored 10 runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Napoleon Varsity Pirates 16-1 on Wednesday at TBD.
Northwest jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Moore drew a walk, scoring one run, Bivens singled, scoring two runs, Robinson singled, scoring one run, Christner singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Moore doubled, scoring one run, and Good homered to center field, scoring two runs.
Northwest added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Barron doubled to center field, Christner doubled down the left field line, and Christner scored after tagging up, each scoring one run.
Northwest scored three runs in the bottom of the third on a home run to center field by Christner.
Bivens earned the win for Northwest. The starting pitcher surrendered zero hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking one. Kaitlyn Fall took the loss for Napoleon Varsity Pirates. The starting pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, surrendering 10 runs (zero earned) on five hits, striking out none and walking two.
Northwest piled up 12 hits in the game. Christner led Northwest with five runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 3-for-3 on the day. Christner and Robinson each collected three hits for Northwest. Bivens and Barron each collected multiple hits for Northwest. Golightly stole four bases. Northwest stole five bases in the game.

Napoleon Varsity Pirates took the lead in the top of the second inning after Jocelyn Gamez walked, and Maci Hamlin walked, each scoring one run.
Northwest flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring seven runs on five hits to take the lead, 8-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to center field by Christner on the eighth pitch of the at-bat that drove in three.
Gardner earned the win for Northwest. The starter allowed five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out three and walking six. Hannah Hamlin took the loss for Napoleon Varsity Pirates. The hurler went six innings, surrendering nine runs (two earned) on nine hits, striking out two and walking none.
Jenna Yob and Hayden Rendall each collected two hits for Napoleon Varsity Pirates. Gamez and Hamlin were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Napoleon Varsity Pirates. Napoleon Varsity Pirates had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game.
Christner led Northwest with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Golightly, Bivens, Good, and Christner each collected two hits for Northwest. Northwest turned one double play in the game. Northwest didn’t commit a single error in the field. Robinson had the most chances in the field with seven.
