Hanover Horton run ruled the Pirates two times tonight. We did not hit or field well enough to compete with their team. Kudos to the Comets!
Hanover-Horton scored five runs on three hits in the top of the second inning. An error scored one run, Biela grounded out, scoring one run, and an error scored three runs.
Dubois earned the win for Hanover-Horton. The starter surrendered one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking none. Kaitlyn Fall took the loss for Napoleon Varsity Pirates. The starter went five innings, giving up 10 runs (two earned) on nine hits, striking out two and walking three.
Hayden Rendall led Napoleon Varsity Pirates with one hit in two at bats.
Ley and Swihart were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Hanover-Horton. Swihart went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Hanover-Horton in hits. Hanover-Horton were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Swihart had the most chances in the field with nine.
Hanover-Horton scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Biela singled, scoring one run, Dubois singled, scoring three runs, and Ley hit a solo home run to left field.

The starter went four and two-thirds innings, giving up 11 runs (five earned) on 11 hits, striking out one and walking one.
Jenna Yob, Katelyn Ault, Allison Dillay, Hayden Rendall, and Fall each collected one hit for Napoleon Varsity Pirates. Ault went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Napoleon Varsity Pirates turned one double play in the game.
Hanover-Horton accumulated 11 hits in the game. Dubois drove the middle of the lineup, leading Hanover-Horton with four runs batted in. The center fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Biela led Hanover-Horton with three hits in four at bats. Biela, King, and Ley each collected multiple hits for Hanover-Horton. Biela stole two bases. Hanover-Horton were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. King had the most chances in the field with six.
Napoleon Varsity Pirates will travel to Dundee for a DH on Thursday.
