
The Columbia Central girls varsity tennis team celebrated Senior Night by defeating Pinckney tonight 5-3. The Golden Eagles were able to get wins from Lydia Sanders, Hannah Tacy, Madonna Chehade, Madison Carlson, Ashlyne Houston, Olivia Slusher, and Kennedy Mitoska.
On Wednesday, the #8 Panthers girls tennis team hosted #3 Chelsea and pushed the Bulldogs close to a tie match but ended up losing 2-6. 2 singles Ali Carmody got another Victory Poncho by being the first flight to secure a win with a score of 6-1, 6-1. Also winning were 3 doubles of Anna Wilcox and Karly Foster with a score of 6-1, 6-1. A couple close matches came down to the final points with 4 singles Ellie McCollum losing in a 3rd set tiebreaker and 4 doubles of Silvia Baker and Anna Willinger losing in a 2nd set tiebreaker. Next up for the Panthers is an I-8 Conference match at Northwest on Thursday, May 1 at 4 pm. Let’s go Panthers!
