Columbia 3 vs. Reading 1 (25-21, 26-24, 22-25, 25-10)
Hilldale 2 @ Concord 1 (21-25, 25-14, 25-22)
The Varsity Volleyball team played tough against two tough opponents tonight losing to Hillsdale Academy 25-21, 14-25, 22-25 and Grass Lake 17-25, 23-25. Leaders for the night were Iyla Weeks with 36 kills, 13 digs, 2 blocks and was 11/13 with 1 ace. Annie Saenz was 19/24 serving with 2 aces, 2 blocks, 13 kills and 18 digs. Bradie Lehman had 50 assists, 24 digs, 22/22 serving with 1 ace and 4 kills. Emma Burbo had 15 digs, 19/20 serving with 3 aces, and 4 kills. Bella Coppernoll had 4 setting assists. Lilie Vandenburgh had 8 digs and was 8/8 serving. Jaylyn Otto had 3 kills, 3 digs and was 4/7 serving. Macy Sinden had 3 digs and was 1/2 serving. The Lady Jackets are now 13-6-1 overall.
Grass Lake 2 @ Concord 1 (25-17, 25-23)
The Lady Warriors traveled to Concord to compete with Hillsdale Acadamey and Concord. Taking on Hillsdale Acadamy first the Warriors battled in a close set but came up short dropping the set 24-26. Moving onto the second they struggled with all aspects of the game and we down 8-20 at one point. They finally started turning the game around and were closing the gap point by point but it was enough and lost 16-25. They used that momentum of fighting back and were able to take the first set from Concord 25-17. They continued to work hard all through the set battling a close score. They were able to finish out the set 25-23 with some incredible blocks from Reese Lape. Lape ended the night with 13 blocks and 8 kills. Ashleigh Simon and Vivian Vitale had 11 kills each. Addalynn Hensen had 7 kills and 3 blocks. Hanna Alvarez had 22 digs. Vitale and Emily Brown had 13 each. Leilah Smith and Mia Buttigieg had 10 each. Buttigieg had 37 assists. Buttigieg led at the service line serving 24-for-26 with 17 points. Vitale followed serving 16-for-16 with 10 points. The Warriors will host Hanover and Homer for a conference matchup Tuesday night. They are now 16-8-3.
