A walkoff bloop left GL at the wrong end of a competitive game against #3 ranked Clinton on Saturday. The Warriors racked up 18 hits in the high scoring affair, yet still came up short.
Like Guthrie went 4 for 6 at the plate to lead the Warriors, and Brayden Lape and Liam Metheringham each drove in 3 runs. Bryant Cook, Walker McKibbin, Sal Vitale, and Avin Sandoval each collected multiple hits for GL.
Manny “Wild Thing” Schafran led things off on the mound tossing 2 and 1/3 innings, then big brother “Mad” Max Schafran pitched 5 and 2/3 innings in relief.
Clinton 17, Grass Lake 9
GL fell 17-9 against Clinton for game 2 of the doubleheader Saturday. The Warriors had 16 hits in the game led by Walker “Batman” McKibbin with 3.
Bryant Cook, Brayden Lape, Liam Metheringham, Luke Guthrie, Avin Sandoval, Max Schafran, and Collin Knight each drove in one run for the Warriors.
Back to conference play Monday, GL welcomes the Cardinals of Michigan Center for a doubleheader at home.

South Lyon 3 vs. Grass Lake 2
Grass Lake Varsity Warriors fell to South Lyon Varsity Lions 3-2 on Friday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the eighth when the Lions’ Ava Bradshaw doubled, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. South Lyon Varsity Lions pitchers struck out 16, while Grass Lake Varsity Warriors sat down 11.
South Lyon Varsity Lions were the first to get on the board in the fourth when an error scored one run.
Emily Brown (2025) doubled, which helped Grass Lake Varsity Warriors tie the game at two in the top of the sixth.
Ava Bradshaw earned the win for South Lyon Varsity Lions. The right-handed pitcher gave up five hits and two runs (one earned) over eight innings, striking out 16 and walking one. Morgan “Mo” Conrad (2026) took the loss for Grass Lake Varsity Warriors. The right-handed pitcher went seven and one-third innings, giving up three runs (zero earned) on five hits, striking out 11 and walking none.
Emily Brown (2025) went 1-for-3 at the plate as the center fielder led the team with one run batted in. Emily Brown (2025), Nadene Hubbard (2025), Rylee Fitzpatrick (2024), Olivia Turner (2024), and Leilah Smith (2026) each collected one hit for Grass Lake Varsity Warriors.
Maggie Badrak went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead South Lyon Varsity Lions in hits. Isabella Bracali and Ava Bradshaw each drove in one run for South Lyon Varsity Lions. Maggie Badrak stole two bases.
