Bentley Coon Won in Augusta

Bentley Coon, a fifth grader at Bean Elementary School won the National Drive, Chip and Putt Competition at Augusta National on Sunday, April 3rd.  The event is a precursor to the Masters Week.

Bentley won the longest drive competition with a 225 yard drive, finished second in the chipping category and was solid in the putting competition with both putts within three feet of the hole.

Coon represented the Great Lakes Region and had to win several qualifying events to make it to August National.  Bentley, the son of Brian Coon who is a noted golfer in the Jackson area, said he started playing golf at the age of 1.
