Grass Lake Defeats East Jackson
The Grass Lake girls bowling team faced off against East Jackson during their first match of the season at Suburban Lanes. The varsity team consisted of senior Delaney O’Dale, juniors; Shandi Stark, Natalie Farmer, and Maven Parham, and freshmen; Marielle Schafran, Lauren Doser, and Kilee Relyea. The team started strong with baker games coming in at 177 and 146 to EJ’s 120 and 111, putting GL up 10-0. The Warriors did not let up going into the first individual game. Freshmen Marielle Schafran finished with a 208, followed by Natalie Farmer 171, Delaney O’Dale 160, Shandi Stark 122, and Maven Parham 136, bringing GL’s total to 797 compared to East Jackson’s 469. The Warriors now lead East Jackson 19-0 in total points. Senior Delaney O’Dale went into the second individual blazing hot – striking 8 out of 10 frames for a total of 248. That score, along with Shandi Stark’s 169, Marielle Schafran’s 147, Maven Parham’s 133, and Natalie Farmer’s 111 helped Grass Lake finish with a total pin count of 808 for the second individual game. Winning 4 out of 5 individuals and beating East Jackson in total pin count brought the final score to 29-1. It was a great start to the Lady Warrior’s season, and they will bowl again this Friday 12/1 at Suburban Lanes against Hanover Horton at 3:00.
