Reading @ Springport 25-21, 25-20, 20-25, 9-25.
Tonight the phrase for the lady Spartans is “resilience to a series of unfortunate events.” The Spartans were given a run for their money with such an evenly matched team but they fell to the Reading Rangers 3-1. With one middle hitter already out, another middle hitter getting hurt in the second set, and there setter having to step out in parts to stretch an angry calf mussel, it was some game to watch! The team came together against the odds and did not go down without a fight. For kill stats Maddux Locke leads with 17, Emma Maher with 6, and Areya Dean with 4. For serves, Areya Dean had 4 aces, Macie Merrill had 2, and Brenna Critteden, Rylee Siefert, Emma Maher, and Jordan Reed all had one. For assists, Rylee Siefert had 12, Areya Dean and Brenna Critteden had 2, and Jordan Reed had 1. And lastly with digs, Maddux Locke had 12, Jordan Reed had 8, and Brenna Critteden and Emma Maher had 7. Great work ladies!
Cascades
Addison vs. Michigan Center 25-20, 25-18, 25-18
Jonesville vs. Columbia Central 21-25, 25-18, 28-26, 25-20
Columbia Central Lady Golden Eagles traveled to Jonesville for a Cascades Conference match up. Despite the Lady Eagles coming off of a not so good performance last week, we came out tonight a lot more confident, trusting each other & really came to play some great volleyball against a very talented Comet squad. We really did a great job of staying in systems more & trying to execute our offense. Our defense worked their butts off tonight and really set the tone with some great passes! These ladies worked hard the whole night & unfortunately came up short. After wining set 1 & feeling really good, we just couldn’t finish the next 3 sets. Despite losing, we came to play, we battled & never gave up. Now we need to finish these games that we are right there in teh end. Eagles win set 1 25-21, dropped 18-25, 26-28, 20-25.
Hanover-Horton vs. Leslie 25-23, 27-25, 25-8

Mollie Barber led the Comets at the service line going 20 for 20 with 2 aces and contributed 3 big blocks. Morgan Kuhl was unstoppable at the net with 10 kills and 3 big blocks. Chelsea Russ also had 3 big blocks for the Comets and 7 kills. Hadlie Barber led with 16 digs and Natalee Krage led with 24 assists for the night.
