Red Wings can’t hold early lead in 4-3 overtime loss to Capitals

The Detroit Red Wings couldn’t hold an early 2-0 lead, eventually falling, 4-3, in overtime to the Washington Capitals on Monday night at Capital One Arena.

David Perron opened the scoring for the Red Wings at 7:30 of the first period, then Oskar Sundqvist’s power-play goal about eight minutes later in the same frame put Detroit ahead, 2-0.
